Take a look at this interview! www.qx104fm.com/musicnews/84/rb/40888/dennis-edwards-says-his-voice-was-a-custom-fit-for-the-temptationsDENNIS EDWARDS SAYS HIS VOICE WAS A CUSTOM FIT FOR THE TEMPTATIONS Home R&B By: Howie Edelson Former Temptations lead singer Dennis Edwards says that his joining the group in 1968 came at the perfect time. Edwards, who replaced David Ruffin, says the group's edgier material, such as "Papa Was A Rollin'Stone," and "Ball Of Confusion," was a perfect match for his grittier gospel-tinged voice: "I think my voice was really suited for that kind of stuff. Y'know? I had that kind of preacher soul man... I had the kind of voice that could really deliver that kind of stuff." Edwards, who now fronts his own Temptations Review, is currently taking a few months off to work on his autobiography, which is due out sometime in 2006. The book will chronicle his several stints in the group between 1968 to 1988. He recently completed a solo album for longtime friend Aretha Franklin's new record label, Aretha Records. The disc, which will reportedly feature a duet with the "Queen Of Soul," still has no release date. The Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards will be performing next on February 25th in Bay City, Michigan at the State Theatre.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU TO SEAIN! I agree, things certainly seem to be looking good for Mr. Edwards. I believe his book is going to be really something!!! At minimum it is going to spark a whole lot of discussion regarding the Temptations. Plus I think its gonna' make for a whole lot of fun and realism as to what life as a Temptation for Mr. Edwards was all about. I can't wait! As far as the music, any music from Dennis is long overdue. But I'm pretty sure, this music .... the soul and the gospel.... are gonna make people sit up and take notice. Dennis still has the voice.... and he knows how to use it. As far as the Review is concerned, I hope we get to see them around as much as they have been around in the past. Life wouldn't be the same if you couldn't get to a Review concert now and again!

Dennis' book will definitely spark interest for Tempts. Most of all, himself. I am very interested to hear his thoughts about the group, Motown during it's heyday & after. Plus, I would love hear his life-long relationship with David Ruffin and Eddie Kendrick. The book will be interesting no doubt. I guess some of us will have to live without seeing the Review for a while.

Is The Review coming to Montgomery on Feb 11? If they are I am going to try my best to be there since it's only a couple of hours away. I am so looking forward to Dennis' book, cd, duet w/ReeRee. The gospel cd should be dropping any day now shouldn't it? I can hardly wait!

CAN'T WAIT TO READ DENNIS BOOK. I WONDER WHAT WAS HE THINKING WHEN HE GOT IN ALL THAT TROUBLE WITH OTIS! I WANT TO KNOW WHY IN HELL IS HE USING THE TEMPATIONS NAME WHEN HE HASN'T BEEN IN THE GROUP IN ALMOST 20 YEARS. WHY COULDN'T HE WORK WITH OTIS? WHY HASN'T HE EVER ADMITTED THAT HE MADE A MISTAKE!AND THE NEW TEMPTATIONS HAVE BEEN BLOWING HIM AWAY WITH RECORD SALES AND CONCERT! DENNIS IS A GREAT SINGER BUT HE CAN'T COMPETE WITH OTIS AND HIS GROUP AT ALL! THE TEMPTATIONS ARE GC CAMERON, TERRY WEEKS, OTIS WILLIAMS, RON TYSON, AND JOE HERNDON. DENNIS IS AN EX TEMP WITH A GROUP OF GUYS WHO HAVE NEVER BEEN TEMPS AT ALL! RESPONSE PLEASE!

Mark Bell, why do you keep coming back to this board, posting your foolishness??? You or no one else for that matter, were there with Dennis when things went down between O and himself. Dennis' group is a TRIBUTE group and I don't see the difference between O's group and Dennis' group. Both have members that were NOT original tempts. O does not even OWN the Tempts name, he only has exclusive rights. O doesn't even have a major record label contract. You like what you like and people like what they like. I would not go to O's board, disrespecting his members the way you are doing here. Screaming and ranting is not gonna change people's opinons about O.

Dennis has more claim to the Temptation name and fame than Otis. Dennis was the second famous lead for the Tempts. Otis was the stumbling, mumbling background singer. Let's not get it twisted.
This is a response to that screaming poster.

ER & Molly: O does no wrong in the eyes in his supporters. It's always the fault of allllllllllllll 21 singers that he's FIRED over the years. He is never accountable for anything. This despite the group has declined dramatically vocally and otherwise. Even some of their diehard loyal fans feel their latest effort stinks. But of course, it's the lead singer's fault!
