From the looks of Ali Woodson's website, his concert schedule shows Dennis Edwards and The Temptations Review concert dates through December 2006. That tells me ALi will be singing with the Review for a l-o-n-g period of time...
...or perhaps he's giving Dennis a free "plug"? What say you? (forum members)

I never saw Ali as an individual who settles down for a long period of time. I noticed that AFTER he left the Temptations. He was doing film, plays, a few solo stints and had his own Emperors Of Soul group for a while. That's why I don't think it's a permanent fix with the Review. Then again I could be wrong - perhaps Ali is now a "changed man"

I just hope this lineup stays together long enough to do a new concert cd/dvd would love to have something with Ali and Dennis together. However anyone feels about the group change the one thing Ali brings to the group is name recognition and the fact that he along with Dennis have been the primary lead voices of the Temptations since the glory days and sing lead on almost all of the groups signature songs of the 70's 80's and 90's To have three strong lead voices (Dennis, Ali, David Sea) like this in one group is very very rare in this day and age and brings breathtaking possiblities if they can put egos aside and jell. Now just Imagine if they had a pure tenor like Glenn in the group. Anyway What i wanna know is what happens when Ali's booked in both his groups. In july I believe he's booked with both the Emperors of Soul and the Review on the same night??? I've seen in different reviews posted here that say David is still doing the Ruffin leads but in another where Ali is doing them instead can someone confirm who's now singing on My Girl, Wish it Would Rain, Beauty's only Skin deep etc. As I posted earlier, the leads went like this at the shows this past weekend in Michigan. David = Ain't Too Proud to Beg Wish It would Rain Beauty is only Skin Deep, Bridge of "You're My Everything". verses 2 and 3 of My Girl,
Ali = Some Enchanted Evening Lady Soul, Treat Her like a Lady, My Baby Don't Look Back, Stay. With Dennis, Chris and Mike doing their usual leads (yes we got "Rainy Night In Georgia") and Chris picking up "Just My Imagination" as well as his usual lead songs. Dennis as I've always seen done does the first verse of My Girl. I think you made some good points about this lineup. What I saw was Dennis doing the leads on the songs he made hits, Ali mostly doing the leads on the songs he made hits and David Sea doing the most of the "Ruffin Leads" other than "My Baby". I don't know about that "name recognition" that Woodson brings but I do agree that the only way this will work is the way the songs are listed in this eariler post. IMO,David Sea is better suited to handle the "Ruffin" songs and does them well. There is only ONE David Ruffin and he's no longer with us. There will NEVER be another David Ruffin ! Dennis is...Dennis...Woodson is...what he is. He will make a difference in the songs that HE sang lead on "Treat Her Like A Lady","Lady Soul" ,but the group "features Dennis Edwards..as long as he realizes this,Woodson will be ok in the group and will make the most of this chance to revive his career with the Review. It's been a long time since he's had a chance like this,it's a step up from singing with the EOS. Benard will be missed. He is a good performer and I wish him the best.

I don't know why people assume Ali has an ego problem. Could it be they feel threatened by his talent? He is doing his thing with the review and they are happy. All that "Stay in his place" crap is BS to me. Ali aint tryna be Ruffin. He is gonna be compared, of course, but I believe Ali is a legend in his OWN right. There is only ONE David Ruffin. What point are you trying to make?

I GUESS HE'S JUST A WORKAHOLIC. ;D

What point are you trying to make? I don't understand why anyone would or should feel "threatened" by his talent...that's not even an issue.Neither is "Ali tryna be Ruffin" The issue is chemistry...just become ONE of the group...do your thing and CONTRIBUTE to an already great group. There was only ONE David Ruffin and nobody else comes close. Just be yourself and everything will be alright. I hope that the Review is happy, they have no reason not to be happy...life is too short not to be happy. The times that I have seen them they seemed to a group that gets along very well with each other I have never seen or sensed any discord among the members of the group...I hope it will always be that way. I would hate to see the revolving door decay this group like it has done other groups that have many personnel changes. Woodson is a good singer I just don't consider him a "legend" . I also don't think it's "crap" to ask him to blend in with the Review. I hope that the "Chaka Kahn" thing that was addressed in an eariler post was a misunderstanding and nobody gets "bent out of shape"...there is no reason for that. As much talent as the Review has there is no reason to feel threatened by anyone's "talent". That is something that all the members of this group has....TALENT...including Bernard.

ALI SHOULD HAVE REJOINED OTIS GROOUP, THEY ARE THE ONE WHO NEED A STRONG LEAD SINGER, NOT THE REVIEW. FIRING BERNARD GIBSON IS THE WORST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO THE REVIEW!

What does everyone think about it? Personally, I don't like it. I want Bernard Gibson BACK! Getting rid of Bernard changed the whole group dynamic harmonies. Bernard added a balance that was needed in the background. How can we have a group with THREE lead singers who have Ruffin-esque voices? Where does this leave Mike & Chris??? Personally, I feel Ali is better off doing his 'solo' thing than coming back to a group dynamic. I'm quite surprised he's actually agreed to be a part of a group. This is just my opinion about the current change in personnel. I have nothing against Ali, for I think he's a fine singer. However, he kinda 'upset' the balance. I hope we can discuss this in a civilize manner without making jabs or potshots, namecalling, etc. Just interested in reading everyone's thoughts on the situation. Would you please clarify why Bernard Gibson was fired? I like Ali very much, but I saw the Review, and the sound was fantastic!

Remember when people wanted a group to consist of David, Dennis, Eddie and Paul? There would have been conflict in that lineup too! If this cast of characters works at it, this could be a fabulous show! I just wish Bernard could have stayed as well.

ALI rocks! Question,is he singing for free? Then he must want to get P.A.I.D. If his solo shows were all that,he wouldn't be singing with Dennis Edwards & The Temptations Review, now would he? If that's a lie then.......something's wrong. The only thing you have to connect to is common sense. ;D
