Let us get to the point here. Enough with the gossip we all know that Ali belongs solo there is only 2 David Ruffins (may he rest in peace) in this group that would be David Sea and Ali Woodson. Only 2 egos in this group is Dennis and Ali and they will clash. I was at the show in Detriot Superbowl weekend and Chaka Kahn open up for the group and called Ali up on stage before they even went on stage to do a duet and of course Ali stole the show. I'll tell you one thing it did not go over well with certain people in the band. The Temps need Bernard back. He is a very talented person and he knows how to sing and the show is not the same with out him. I do not think it is fair that David Sea does not get to do the songs he used to do if anyone should of left it should of been Mike P. The group is slowly falling apart. And one more thing how Mr. Archer know what goes on in the dressing room.. God Bless

God Bless hey wut u raggin on Mike P. for? he's a good singer..and BTW if u haven't noticed..he sings bass..the Tempts don't have a complete group without a bass singer. and how Mr. Archer knows wut he knows is his business--we ain't openin that can of worms again--it only leads to heated arguments--which i for one ain't gonna participate in. so let it go --that thread's been dropped.

Has anybody seen a show yet with the new line up? If so could you please let us know who sings lead on what songs now and what songs have been added and deleated from the show. Also on a previous thread whether or not behind the scenes stuff should be discussed is another matter. However not knowing I'm glad someone at least informed us of the line up change. Any answer would be greatly appreciated I posted informing this board of the new line-up, with a link to some of their schedule, almost two weeks ago ;D I attended the shows in Warren MI. Wonderful!! They were full shows, with only a comedian on as opener. It was pretty much the same shows/song lineups as I've seen before. With Ali in the line-up the songs were led like this (in no particular order, I didn't write it down...) David = Ain't Too Proud to Beg Wish It would Rain Beauty is only Skin Deep, Bridge of "You're My Everything". verses 2 and 3 of My Girl, Ali = Some Enchanted Evening Lady Soul, Treat Her like a Lady Don't Look Back, Stay. Dennis, Chris and Mike did their usual leads, with Dennis doing an outstanding "Song For You" (with "Memories" in the middle on Saturday). Ali took over the parts Bernard used to do on the multi-lead songs. Friday night Dennis was obviously very ill, very pale and had to sit down thru some parts of the songs, but he kept on going. He said onstage that he had the flu. His voice was still powerful, but he wasn't able to hit the high notes on "Song For You" and left "Memories" out. I was told later that he spent time in the hospital after the show on Friday night, but being the true professional he is, he was there Saturday also, and looked much much better. (and just really killed the high notes on "Song for You" ;D ) Friday night uniforms were the red embroidered ones they wore on the last PBS special, Saturday night were the lavender with dark lapels and silver decoration all over that temptsguitargirl took pictures of. NICE REVIEW OF THE SHOW ALIFAN. THANKS

Here's my two cents...I want Bernard to come back! I have absolutely nothing against Ali...he is a very talented and dynamic performer in his own right. I think it kinda upsets the balance too. Now there are 3 David singers in the group...David and Ali bouncing off each other and Dennis holding down the middle. Now...that's 3 Davids and no Paul??? Bernard is not exactly a Paul singer but he added nice harmonies to the group. He and Chris have a wonderful blend and complement each other. I have not seen the new line up perform yet...but I am sure I will enjoy every minute of the show. I am so looking forward to seeing them. I just wish Mr Gibson would still be part of the show. That's one of the hi-lites of the show...watching Bernard do Don't Look Back! ... I got my hand out now! ;D Did someone say get rid of Mike Patillo??? FUH WHUT? I agree Mike is a bass singer and his job is to stay low...I don't see the reasoning behind that one. I think he's doing a fine job too. I will remain a supporter of the Review and can't wait til they come back to GA...and please don't let it be outside. I would like to sit down in comfort without fighting the elements and the darn mosquitoes.

(((SeainDennis))) I agree. I believe another poster pointed out that with Ali there are 3 David Ruffin style singers. Dennis,David S.and Ali. I too was surprised that Ali joined the group. Personally I don't think it will work (personality wise). What suprises me is the fact they let Bernard go,and kept Ali. Although I have to admit Ali sings the hell out of My Girl. Honestly, I don't like how Ali sings 'My Girl'. The song does not require too much vocal gymnastics. David bought a certain type of finesse and smoothness that I don't think any other Tempt lead, including Dennis would be able to match. The best they can do is sing it in their own style and don't try to compete with the original. That's why I like David Sea. He does not oversing or get dramatic when he sings 'My Girl'. JMHO. As for the personalities, time will tell. I, too, wonder how everyone will get along, especially when you have 3 lead singers. Dang! I want Bernard back!

I agree that Bernard was the 'Paul' of the group, despite him sounding nothing like Paul. He added a sweet touch to the backing vocals along with Chris, Mike & David. I'm also puzzled as to why Mike P. should leave. He's been a mainstay of the group for all this time(same with Bernard). I don't see why he should be asked to go either.

I just hope this lineup stays together long enough to do a new concert cd/dvd would love to have something with Ali and Dennis together.
However anyone feels about the group change the one thing Ali brings to the group is name recognition and the fact that he along with Dennis have been the primary lead voices of the Temptations since the glory days and sing lead on almost all of the groups signature songs of the 70's 80's and 90's
To have three strong lead voices (Dennis, Ali, David Sea) like this in one group is very very rare in this day and age and brings breathtaking possiblities if they can put egos aside and jell. Now just Imagine if they had a pure tenor like Glenn in the group.
Anyway What i wanna know is what happens when Ali's booked in both his groups. In july I believe he's booked with both the Emperors of Soul and the Review on the same night???
I've seen in different reviews posted here that say David is still doing the Ruffin leads but in another where Ali is doing them instead can someone confirm who's now singing on My Girl, Wish it Would Rain, Beauty's only Skin deep etc.

David = Ain't Too Proud to Beg Wish It would Rain Beauty is only Skin Deep, Bridge of "You're My Everything". verses 2 and 3 of My Girl,
Ali = Some Enchanted Evening Lady Soul, Treat Her like a Lady, My Baby Don't Look Back, Stay. With Dennis, Chris and Mike doing their usual leads (yes we got "Rainy Night In Georgia") and Chris picking up "Just My Imagination" as well as his usual lead songs. Dennis as I've always seen done does the first verse of My Girl. I think you made some good points about this lineup. What I saw was Dennis doing the leads on the songs he made hits, Ali mostly doing the leads on the songs he made hits and David Sea doing the most of the "Ruffin Leads" other than "My Baby".

My guess is that Ali will be with the Review until they find a replacement for Bernard. I say this because Ali does quite a few Off Broadway / Gospel shows and possibly has other commitments. We shall see.

This new line would will be wonderful ...Ali and Dennis together and if new a DVD and a CD or two will be result of this venture WOW!!! I do agree about Bernard being a great blend to The Review and wish he gets/wants to come back. Also I see Ali coming in the group and helping with taking some of the load off of Dennis and allowing Dennis to be able to perform many, many more years as the Greatest member of The Temptations.
