;D ;D MY MY--YA'LL ON A ROLL TODAY. ;D ;D. OPINIONS CERTAINLY DO COUNT...EVEN IF THEY AIN'T NECCESARILY TRUE FACTS. IN THE MEANTIME, DENNIS IS PROBABLY LAUGHING ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK. Maybe. Just because an artist loves performing does not mean that they perform for free.

There is no dispute that they love to entertain. But they and their families also love to eat . What's wrong with the statment that they need to work to live? It's not as if they are recording new material, For Gods sake they are imitating The Real Temptations!!! . Which I feel they do very well btw. I am a big fan of The Review, but there is no disrespect in stating the truth.I like Dennis Edwards as a performer and as a person.(maybe not as much as others ) Jayz never has to work again, Snoop never has to work again...Diddy never has to work again.....Russell Simmons never has to work again.....I could go on with this list of artist that could live a star lifestyle without working, but Dennis Edwards is not on it. Comparing Dennis Edwards to Smokey Robinson,Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross is just wrong. These artist are Motown Royality. Dennis is very talented but he is not in the same category of any of these legends. I believe he would agree. This is the funniest post that I've seen in a long time. The "Real Temptations" are dead. They haven't performed since 1989. So if the Review is imitating the "Real Temptations",what do you think Otis'& 'em are doing? Melvin Franklin did say that the Temptations were the most imitated group around,in 1970. As far as "new material",Otis &'em are remaking songs. The Review made a gospel cd. The gospel cd sounds much better than "Reflections " and "Legacy" put together. Also I don't see anything wrong with compairing GREAT Motown artists like Smokey,Stevie,Diana..and DENNIS EDWARDS. Hell, the first time Diana,Stevie and Smokey stood thisclose to a Grammy was when they visited Dennis' house and asked to see what a Grammy award looks like. Dennis has more grammys than Diana and Smokey put together. Dennis was also inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame on the same day as Stevie Wonder,so what's the problem with mentioning his name along with his PEERS? Since you want to be "realistic" about things. Can't get any more real than that. Michael Jackson was thought of as a person that doesn't have to work again...Seems like that story has changed,so don't count JayZ,Russell Simmons,Snoop or anyone else out.You never know what tomorrow will bring. I can't find in my post where I mentioned Otis Williams name. or his group. Both groups are Imitations. I'm happy my post amused you, ;D ;D ;D ;D This is the funniest post I have read in quite some time! . I NEVER HEARD OR READ ANYWHERE THAT DENNIS OR ANY OEXCUSE ME--BUT DID I MISS SOMETHING HERE? WHO SAID DENNIS HAD TO WORK? IM SURE DENNIS COULD LIVE EXTREMELY WELL IF HE DIDN'T WORK ANOTHER DAY IN HIS LIFE. I DON'T KNOW NOTHING ABOUT WHAT OTHER SOUL ARTIST HAVE TO DO, BUT I DON'T THINK MR. EDWARDS IS IN THAT CATERGORY THAT HE NEEDS TO WORK TO SURVIVEF THE REVIEW WISHED THEY DIDN'T HAVE SO MANY CONCERT DATES. HAVE YOU??? ITS A BLESSING, A COMPLIMENT AND QUITE AN ACHEIVEMENT TO BE POPULAR ENOUGH AND BE IN SUCH DEMAND TO HAVE A FULL SCHEDULE. HAVING SO MANY CONCERT DATES IS NOT A CURSE--ITS A CURSE WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE THEM.[/quote] ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

::)geez wut the hell is everybody arguing about? what does it matter if Dennis is performin because he wants to or because he gets paid to do it? i'm sure the man does have a little money sumwheres. i'm not saying the man oozes hundred dollar bills out of every pour in his body. however, performing does pay very well--and i'm sure havin a little extra cash would be incentive enough to do a few shows. Dennis probably wouldnt have to work another day in his life if he so chose not to..but you gotta realize there are some people out there who love to perform, they love to be on stage, they love the whole hype of people screamin and cheering them on..its a sort of euphoria--like a rush. Dennis has been performing for awhile..and think about it this way..if he just stops..what is he gonna do with all that extra time?--granted he could spend more time with his family and what have u, but still that leaves an awful lot of time..why not fill that time doing something you love and get paid a little extra cash for doing it?

If performing was a "hobby" or something just to fill his time, he wouldn't have to do it as often. Do you actually think Dennis has nothing better to do with his time other than working? If nothing else he could become acquainted with his many children. But you're right, what does it matter if he has to work or simply just wants to work? Maybe if people didn't take offense to innocent statements, this could have been a discussion instead of an argument. But that's hard to do when you are emotionally involved. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;DStand By Your Man EZZIE!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Anyway,Dennis is still working he doesn't appear to be upset about working and who said that the Review wished that they didn't have so many concert dates? I'm glad that he is still performing . If you can still do it,do it.

MikeNYC, I don't recall Jackie Wilson being in the best of financial shape. Remember that he was under Nat Tarnpool and the contract that he signed. Obviously, Jackie was not in the best of health and we all saw what happened to him. Neither was Phillipe Wynne. I could be wrong that he probably didn't HAVE to perform but we all saw what happened to him when he did. As for Sinatra, that also proves part of my point. As I stated before, entertainers should work because they want to, not because they have to. In Sinatra's case, he didn't have to but he should have been stopped. This is according to Sinatra's children. In his much later years, he really was not in the shape to be out on the road but he continued to do it. To love what you do is one thing but it's quite another when it becomes a task rather than enjoyment. I'm not saying at all that Dennis should stop. What I'm saying is that it would be nice if his workload wasn't so heavy. What is so wrong about that? Question, did Frank's children give a reason why he kept on performing? Nothing has been stated where ANY of these performers felt like it was a Task to perform. Health issues can happen to anyone at any age. Some people feel as long as they can do it,why stop? The thing about Sinatra was that he didn't perform every year, at a crueling pace of 8-10mos of the year. That's the difference and even if he did perform every year, more than likely it was less than 4-6 mos at a time. Sinatra obviously performed because he loved to but he had to come to the realization that he could not do it anymore because of his health. I have never said in any of posts that Dennis should 'stop' what he's doing. I've continually said that I wish he did not have to work as hard, meaning more than 6 months to a year. BB King is 80 yet plays 100 nites per year. That is less than 4-5 mos. Obviously, he's doing it because he wants to not because he has to. That's the point I've been making continuously.

Okay, 'yall' can't have it both ways. One minute, the complaint is the board is dead, the next minute there seems to be an 'argument'. How do you want it? The point is everyone here is free to agree to disagree. That does not constitute an argument. I think it's interesting to hear and read what people think. Anyway, thanks for your input.

BUT AT LEAST ITS KEEPING THIS BOARD INTERESTING. I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE RUDENESS--SOME FOLKS JUST CAN'T HELP THEMSELVES. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE SO CALLED "GUEST" POSTERS WHO HIDE BEHIND THE NAME OF "GUEST". TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS, DON'T BE FOOLED--THEY AIN'T GUEST--THEY ARE MEMBERS SAYING WHAT THEY REALLY FEEL AND DON'T WANT IT TO BE KNOWN WHO THEY ARE. I'VE BEEN A LOYAL MEMEBER ON THIS BOARD FOR 4 YEARS AND TRUST ME I KNOW MOST OF THE FOLKS ON THIS BOARD PERSONALLY, KNOW HOW THEY THINK, KNOW HOW THEY WRITE AND KNOW THE INFORMATION THEY HAVE, AND SOME OF THESE POST HAVE THEIR NAME WRITTEN ALL OVER IT. THE SAD THING IS, THIS BOARD SHOULD BE A TRIBUTE TO DENNIS AND THE REVIEW FOR THEIR ACHEIVEMENTS AND INSTEAD THEY ARE USING IT FOR AN OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE STABS WHILE THEY HIDE BEHIND THE NAME OF GUEST. I JUST WONDER WHAT SOMEONE DID TO RUFFLE THEIR FEATHERS SO WILL THE REAL "GUEST" STAND UP???

Hello I'm ER from the Palace. I can emphatically state with 100% certainty that I and Molly from the Palace are actual guest posters. For some reason I just felt compelled to post here. I'll slither back to the Palace and play dominoes under my rock.

Right again baby gurl! It seems that a subject other than a "review" of "The Review" would be welcomed. You lit this fuse and I find this to be an interesting discussion. People expressing their opinions is a beautiful thing! Also I didn't see any post where rude comments were made.(Maybe I've been at The Palace too long) Hold up ER I'm coming!
