WOW, THE JUICES ARE FINALLY FLOWING IN HERE! YES THE REVIEW DOES GIVE A GOOD SHOW, AND ADDING OLLIE WAS A BLESSING IN DISGIUSE. NOW THEY NEED TO USE HIS TALENTS TO THEIR BENEFIT! OTIS PUTS ON A FANTASTIC SHOW. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 2 GROUPS ARE OTIS AND HIS1 TEMPTATIONS SET THE STANDRD, DENNIS AND EVERYONE ELSE FOLLOWS BEHIND!

NEITHER DENNIS OR OLLIE HAVE HAD A HIT SINCE THEY LEFT THE TEMPTATIONS, DOES THAT SUPRISE ANYONE? IT DOESN'T SUPRISE ME AT ALL. OTIS KNOWS THE BUSINESS MUCH BETTER!1111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111

Standard? ;D.The Hall Of Fame Temptations set the standard.Everyone else INCLUDING Otis' group attempts to stay in the mold. After seeing Martha Stewart's show...Otis' group doesn't fit the mold. Dennis helped set the standard. I was not impressed with Otis' group's show. It was far from "fantastic". The Review puts on a much better show. No question.

If Otis knew the business so well,he would have skipped Martha Stewart's show.Motown 40 AND Letterman. ;D

"NO MATTER WHO THEY HIRE, THEY STILL WON;T GET THE PUBLICITY THEY DESERVE! MAYBE IT IS TIME FOR DENNIS TO RETIRE, OR LET OLLIE TAKE OVER THE REVIEW!" as far as the publicity thing goes..the review has been incredibly busy doing shows..i'm sure they have all the publicity they need..and besides if they had any more exposure they would be working non-stop..and i'm sure Dennis and the rest of the review enjoy a week or two off..they do have a life ya know What is "publicity" doing for Otis' group? What R&B group gets the publicity that they deserve? The Whispers? The Dramatics? The Four Tops? New Edition? Boyz II Men? The O'Jay's? Who? At least when the Review gets on TV,they sound good. They have done halftime shows at NBA playoff games...in front of about 25,000 pepole Seemed like everytime I turned on the tv,they were on. It doesn't seem that all the alledged "Publicity" and HYPE that Otis' group gets is helping "Reflections". Much to do about nothing.

I've been quite busy myself with work and school, so I'm guilty as charged. However, folks should not take it 'personally' because the board is slow. It happens. It has nothing to do with any 'incident' or a 'person'. So I wish folks would stop trying to make something out of nothing. I'm sure all of us get busy one time or another plus another thing to consider is that Dennis's group has not come to everyone's area as yet. Hence, why there may not be 'much' to say. I would have loved to see Dennis in AC next month but can't because I will be away during that time. He is coming to NY in August and I will definitely be there. So don't worry about not seeing people posting. If you have something of interest to post, post it and I'm sure you will get a response eventually.

Look at Patti Labelle for instance. Her last CD was not a 'hit' and adding insult to injury, the record company did not even bother to help her promote it. Patti said this HERSELF in interview and was pretty heated about it. So it has nothing to do with 'knowing the business better', it has to do with the climate and the industry which is geared towards a younger demographic. O is not exactly 'setting' the world on fire either, which is why his group is no longer on Motown. It's rough out there for ALL classic soul singers, whether their name is Aretha or Dennis. This is what the music industry is like today.

It really bothers me to see some of our classic soul artists having to constantly work just to survive. It does not make sense. I would like to see Dennis work whenever he feels like it and not because he feels has to.

IM SURE DENNIS COULD LIVE EXTREMELY WELL IF HE DIDN'T WORK ANOTHER DAY IN HIS LIFE. I DON'T KNOW NOTHING ABOUT WHAT OTHER SOUL ARTIST HAVE TO DO, BUT I DON'T THINK MR. EDWARDS IS IN THAT CATERGORY THAT HE NEEDS TO WORK TO SURVIVE. I NEVER HEARD OR READ ANYWHERE THAT DENNIS OR ANY OF THE REVIEW WISHED THEY DIDN'T HAVE SO MANY CONCERT DATES. HAVE YOU??? ITS A BLESSING, A COMPLIMENT AND QUITE AN ACHEIVEMENT TO BE POPULAR ENOUGH AND BE IN SUCH DEMAND TO HAVE A FULL SCHEDULE. HAVING SO MANY CONCERT DATES IS NOT A CURSE--ITS A CURSE WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE THEM.

Because I'm re-reading what I wrote to see what elicted such a heated response from you. *I* am concerned for all our classic soul artists, whether it be Aretha or Dennis or anyone else. There is nothing wrong with them making money or getting bookings but it should be done on their terms. What is so wrong about that? Our classic soul acts, IMO, should be treated like the treasures they are and not like *second class* citizens. There are singers like Smokey, Aretha and Diana Ross who have the good fortune to work only when they want to. That's a good thing because the reality is that these folks are all up in age. They are not getting any younger. Touring is wear and tear on the body and at this stage of the game, whether it's Dennis or anyone else, they should not have to work that hard. Yes, it's their choice whether they want to and if they could afford not to, God bless them. No need to take offense to something expressed out of concern.

If Dennis didn't leave "The Temptations" set for life then it's highly "Unlikely" that he could walk away from the Review, and never have to work again!. Everybody and anybody can retire, myself included, but I don't believe anybody wants to work as hard when they are old as they did when they were young if they didn't "have" to. It saddens me to say this but If The Late Great David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks were still with us,I believe they would still "have" to tour. And they were the "hit makers" of The Tempts! Artist like Smokey,Ree-Ree, Stevie and MS.Ross to you, work when they want to and on their terms. I also agree that it is a "blessing" that The Review have a full schedule. That goes to show you that people are still fasinated by the legacy the C5 . The Review is the recipent of The Temptations fans undying loyalties. But lets face it they are not commanding the salaries of years gone by. Touring is hard when you're young, and I can't believe anyone would put themsevles through that grueling exercise "Just" because they want to.
