IT'S ABOUT TIME!! I am  over this!! Wooo Weee!!! Memorial Planned for Temptations' Ruffin MERIDIAN, Miss. (AP) - Mayor John Robert Smith says the city supports efforts for a tribute to David Ruffin, an original member of The Temptations. Ruffin, a Meridian native, died in 1991 of a drug overdose. He was 50. ``We're not trying to build a David Ruffin Fund,'' his brother, Quincy Ruffin, said. ``We're trying to build a foundation to help people in need of educational help, especially as far as drugs are concerned.'' Ruffin said plans also include locating a park or outdoor area in downtown Meridian in honor of the singer. After a location is secured and proposals are written, organizers can seek federal funds, Smith said this week. David Ruffin sang lead vocals on hits such as ``My Girl'' and ``Ain't Too Proud to Beg.'' He left The Temptations in 1968 to pursue a solo career, but joined the group when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989. On the Net: www.rockhall.com/
