I was looking at David Letterman last nite and saw Angie Stone and The O'Jays performing TOGETHER! She was singing I Wish and they were singing background...then they broke into BackStabbers! I thought I would pass out! Damn, they sounded good. Never in a million years would I have paired them together...they really compliment each other (IMHO) I wonder what brought them together?

I think it's wonderful that Angie performed with the originators of that song. I wish more performers who sample from the old school singers would have the courage to do what Angie did. Maybe they are afraid that they will be out done by the old schoolers? I often wonder if that's why they prefer to pay "tribute", as they call it, on record than actually inviting the old schoolers to perform with them.

((Princess))) the operative word you used is "COMPLIMENTED"... You are absolutely correct. Angie Stone is an excellent vocal. I'm not saying that alot of the artists nowadays can't sing (even tho alot of them can't), Angie Stone is a writer, vocalist and the quality of her voice is very STRONG.. So, she is not INITIMIDATED by some of the "tried-tested-proven best" recording artists. She admires them and a group such as the O'Jays -- you got to be as good as them to hang - and Sister Angie Stone can DEFINITELY HANG with the best of them! Peace and Blessings... "true"
