Hype, thanx for the link. I would love to join you; but the first thing I saw when I went over there was Ellie Mae. It could get quite heated with her over there making all kind of insensitive statements about Black people and then laffing. I don't think I could restrain myself. But I will visit and post, if the climate is right. Thanx

Hello Hype! Thanks for posting the link. Very interesting board you have there. I totally agree with Fast, as I don't want to be bothered with someone who just wants to be 'up in the kool aid' & make inflammatory remarks. I'm also confused as that if its suppose to be targetted specifically to black people, why are there white folks posting there? Just asking since that's what you initially posted.

I don't quite know who Ellie-Mae is, but I think I have an idea. Don't worry, people will be in check at this board.
The board is not specifically for Black people only at all. It is supposed to be a highway for knowledge, but if people get out of hand and insult Blackness, there will be no problem, because posts will be deleted.
If you all post occasionally you will see that there will be good conversation. We will also be pulling out true colors. I think that any intelligent person will be able to find more understand after visiting this board. And the ones who know, as I assume you all know, will be able to educate as well as be educated.
It's all love, but remember this is a board about black people and the Administrator is Black, so there is definitely the best interest of black people in mind.

((((Hype)))) Hi Baby.... Listen, thank you for the link. I will be checking you out. It's a nice site over there. As the others, I am apprehensive on some thing BUT b'cos it's YOU and I know it's YOU -- yes, I will be visiting. I will visit your board because I KNOW you will keep folks in check. I have had a very bad experience with people disrespecting me and my nationality and the sad thing about is the BLACKS were with her in this BECAUSE of IGNORANCE. So, I think that this is a good thing. Peace and Blessings (((Hype)))) Hotep!...

I've already posted something over there. I just think it's a little 'misleading' to call it a 'Black Forum' if there are going to be other ethnic groups posting there. Someone who would saw the title of the forum, would automatically get that impression that it's specifically targetted to such a group. Long as your intent is sincere, I have don't have a problem posting there.

Long as your intent is sincere, I have don't have a problem posting there. I understand where you are coming from. But I gues when I say it's a Black Forum on Race, I should have said "A Forum on the Black Race," but that didn't sound right. I figure it this way, it's a black forum because it's about black people and the intent is to handle black issues and how they are dealt with. So, I don't mean for it to be misleading, i simply mean for it to be right. Now as far as who it is trageted to, I would hope that the majority of the people putting input in will be black people, but the other persepectives are important and for obvious reasons. If we as black people talk about race it's our perspectives alone. But to have a white person talking about it in the context of a pro black environment is to extract white views of race and allow those views to be a way to fight white racsim and sentiment, even from a foxy white liberal.

Hello Hype! I understand what you are saying but I have to admit, I have a problem with what you are saying. See, I'm quite tired of the constant focus on just 'black folks' as if we are the only ones who have issues that need to be discussed or to get other people's opinions about us. I don't think that's fair. To me, it gives other folks the easy way out instead of confronting their own racial groups about their own bias. Blacks do it to each other all the time when it comes to that issue. I seldom see whites challenge each other but instead chose preach their message to already converted black choir. If whites want to fight racism with in their own ranks, they are going to have to setup to the plate first, instead of hiding behind us. By no means am I trying to tell you how you should present or run your board, but I get a little tired of hearing these 'white liberal' perspectives on black forums when they don't take it upon themselves to challenge their own. JMHO Bro.

I think that part of being black is having to deal with other peoples bias'. It's a big part of being Black. There isn't a group of people who come to this country who don't get better economic treatment than blacks. Banks loans are more bountiful for cars, business, home ownership and more. I think it's important to identify thier issues to harness our own understanding. Allowing them to post seems to be a good way to do it. If it weren't a plausible way "in my mind" then they wouldn't be allowed to post.
Sorry, you feel that way. But please feel free to throw any suggestions my.

If it weren't a plausible way "in my mind" then they wouldn't be allowed to post. Sorry, you feel that way. But please feel free to throw any suggestions my. I see. I feel we need to deal with our own 'bias' as well. I believe that you have to take care of your own home first before you take care of someone else's. I just find it too consuming to try to understand & figure out why people feel they way they do about 'blacks'. We need to challenge each other first because we do the same things that we are trying to 'understand' what others are doing to us. By no means, does this mean that let's others off the hook for their treatment of us. But we have to treat each other better FIRST, just as we are concern about everyone else. And mostly importantly, I don't really want to fulfill some white 'liberal' person's fantasies about black 'militancy'(why are black conscious people are called this, I don't know). Maybe I'm missing something in your post, despite reading it several times. I try not to misintepret anything that is posted. And may I suggest, that there'd be some reading/visual material to add to the discussion? Opinions & ideas are good but when you have other sources to discuss, it creates a more better dialogue. But I'm sure you know this already. BTW, I'm female (but you probably knew that too! ). Peace & Blessings!

Why did IV change her name...so people won't recognize her? Go figure! And I'm sure she's done 'clued' them in over there as to 'who' she thinks we are. ;D ;D ;D I barely got a response to the post I posted. So the wagons have been circled. It's all good though! LOL!! ;D ;D ;D She just better not come with any nonsense. Hype seems serious but I ain't in the mood to entertain any white liberal black militancy fantasies.
