   It's about time! I am so glad. I am so proud. This is long overdue for David Ruffin. My friends Jody, and Seain aka Common posted it at the Palace. I think it should be over here also because this is "TEMPTATION HAVEN".... Ohmygoodness, this is wonderful.. This is a copy of his brother's statement:
Memorial Planned for Temptations' Ruffin
MERIDIAN, Miss. (AP) - Mayor John Robert Smith says the city supports efforts for a tribute to David Ruffin, an original member of The Temptations.
Ruffin, a Meridian native, died in 1991 of a drug overdose. He was 50.
``We're not trying to build a David Ruffin Fund,'' his brother, Quincy Ruffin, said. ``We're trying to build a foundation to help people in need of educational help, especially as far as drugs are concerned.''
Ruffin said plans also include locating a park or outdoor area in downtown Meridian in honor of the singer.
After a location is secured and proposals are written, organizers can seek federal funds, Smith said this week.
David Ruffin sang lead vocals on hits such as ``My Girl'' and ``Ain't Too Proud to Beg.'' He left The Temptations in 1968 to pursue a solo career, but joined the group when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989. ________
Wonderful, past time. (((David Ruffin))) you deserve this!

Cool! I gotcha! BTW, Someone posted the link findagrave to leave a message & flowers for DR. I read all the posts over there & tears came to my eyes. One particular poster leaves a flower, a gift or a post everyday. I thought that was touching. I just wanted to say that.

Man he was too young when he died. Seriously. When I hear "One Last Kiss" I get all sad and stuff. Even the musical intro makes me feel sad. OH man, the man was even able to touch the hearts of those waaaaaay after his time like myself with his voice and music. It was a tragic loss indeed. WE MISS YOU RUFF!
