Hi All!
Just got back from Vegas, direct from Tempts Review concert.
Vegas is the bomb, never seen anything like it. First time visit for me, can't wait to go back.
I have to start out by letting you know that the concert was no less than fantastic. Kudos to the Temptations Review Orchestra - they are really great musicians and great support for the the Review. The concert was standing room only. Lucky me, I got to sit on the front row and see all the action up close. Even with so many people present, you were still able to get that down home personal feeling.
First, the Tempts were wearing royal blue rainbow/ city suits. They were all so handsome and dare I say electrifying. I'm so amazed that every time I have seen them take the stage they are so prepared and professional, just phenomenal entertainers. I envy their talent...... only if everyone were so passionate about their work, this world would be a better place.
My most favorite moments from the concert are the following:
(Guys, please excuse me, I may have to digress from the pure music just a bit!)
When Mike sang Rainy Night in Georgia..... He sang it so beautifully, with such passion, he was truly sensitive, pulled at my heart. His sound, his voice is so far down there, it really warms me up.
Chris really had a peak performance. Its hard to pick a favorite moment, there were so many, but he really shined on Why You Want To Make Me Blue and You're My Everything. He's just got this great smooth.... oh so sexy sound..... I loved it.
I just love Bernard, he too provided me with many favorite moments. First, with Don't Look Back, I just love the way he sings this song and gets the audience involved. Great arrangement of the song. And I don't know if guys will find this as a compliment, but it is certainly meant to be, he justs sings it so sweet
"Just put your hand in mine and leave all your troubles behind, and don't look back......" I believe it.
Great job on Just My Imagination, he hits the high notes with the best of them, again so sweet, reminds me of Eddie.
David, OMG, What moment in time can I pick....... I have to say when he sang Lady Soul. (Now I love Ali Woodson and his Lady Soul but....) David's Lady Soul is clearly one of the high points of the concert. He's a great singer, no doubt, but he is also a fabulous performer, he draws you in with those good looks and beautiful voice..... and those moves..... ladies you know
.....so sexy.
Of course, Wish it Would Rain/Since I Lost My Baby was a close second, and get this, some lucky young lady from the audience got to sing with him. She was pretty good, gave him a run for his money.
One of my favorite Dennis moment was when he laid it all out on Song for You. We don't get to hear Dennis sing too many love songs but this was very passionate and very personal. And he enjoyed singing it. What a performance! Of course I loved hearing him sing God Bless America and My Girl. Also, Dennis provides great vocal backgrounds on Wish it Would Rain, almost steals the show from David ..... I guess that's more than a favorite moment...... I just love Dennis - I can't help it. Not only is he one of the greatest voices of all time, he is an amazing entertainer, and I want to appreciate him for what he's done with the classic Temptations and for that fantastic group he's put together now to entertain us. His way of paying tribute to his brothers is so very touching.
But the biggest treat of the night was when the Review surprised the audience by singing Silent Night. It was an awesome arrangement. I hear this song every Christmas, but hearing it live was a real treat. Thanks Dennis for the extra.
Sorry, no pictures, I realized when I was at the Allegan concert, I',m photographically challenged. Hopefully, I painted a clear picture in words for you.
That about raps up Vegas, you guys should have been there. You missed a real treat.
Now its time to try and cook turkey - gotta go - takes us non-cookers a while....(anybody out there can help a sista' out and tell me where to order dinner from!)
Happy Holidays Yall'
Peace! Out!
