Here is an honest review of Dennis' group concert I read at another board. Get a clue.
Hey! I have a major headache coming on, so I will try to get this done quickly. The reason for my headache? I just got back from hearing Dennis Edwards & the Temptation Revue! Didn't stay to see the Four Tops! Here's why: Got there early; saw Dennis (sorta remembered me after 30 yrs); chit-chatted a little! His face has weathered okay, but his body hasn't! (He is huge! He is BIGGER than Otis!!!)They were wearing RED SUITS, and his jacket was so tight that you could see the belt indentation underneath. But, age hasn't mellowed his ego a bit!(I did not meet the others.) They went on first: Program My Rating STANDING ON THE TOP 85 GET READY 70 AIN"T TO PROUD TO BEG 80 LADY SOUL 80 PAPA WAS A ROLLING STONE 90 DON'T LOOK BACK MIC PROBLEM Rainy Nite In Georgia 60 - showcase BASS/shouldn't Beauty's Only Skin Deep 65 Why Ya Wanna Make Me Blue 70 My Baby 70 You're My Everything 60 - off-key & straining You Lose A Precious Love 70 The Way You Do The Things 65 God Bless America 70 - sort of a "hip version"? Stay/My Girl/Imagination 65 - I wanted to slap them
STAY??? What the *@~%? That was AFTER him!!! I was so agitated, I left before the Four Tops went on stage!! BTW - Dennis' EGO is even bigger than his stomach!!

%20%3ADWell, "RealDeal", I've seen Dennis Edwards also and he is an excellent entertainer. I do not see the relevance where PAT states "his stomach is so big you can see the indentations of his belt buckle". I mean what does this have to do with the music? Also, to say that she could "have SLAPPED Dennis after hearing them sing STAY" - is wayyyyyy out-of-pocket. Anytwo time Bo Henderson sings "My Girl" and literally DESTROYS this tune. I think that Dennis' group can sing Stay because they do it well. It's not like they mess the tune up, like Bo does. So I think that's out of pocket. Also, she states that she hasn't seen Dennis in over 30 years, well, she really contradicts herself talking about his looks because SHE DON'T LOOK THE SAME AS SHE DID 30 years ago - nobody does. Dennis is lucky to be here. He does not hide it. He has stated that he was just as notorious ad David, Paul and Eddie. So I don't know what ol girl is talkin about. I don't think Dennis has any more of an ego than Bo, Harrry, Ron Tyson or Otis, but then again she could be lying to endear herself to Otis and his crew. It's sad.

I have mixed feelings as to whether or not to respond to this. Same old bull...folks trying to start something! I maintain my stance on the Review. I am with you Poo...Dennis and the Review are excellent enterainers and the only fault I find in them is... I can't get to see them ENUFF! It seems I detect a little jealousy in this post. If going to see the Review gave her a headache, then seeing Otis nem should have put her in cardiac arrest. Her attack on them sounded personal to me. Yes,, perhaps Dennis could stand to lose a few pounds, but to demean him in this manner is very childish and petty. How does she look after 30 years??? Is her face sagging??? How much chicken skin she got under that neck??? OMG, what about them sagging breast and the booty and the thighs that have begun to go south??? How would she have felt if Dennis made comments about her like that??? I'm sure she would not like it one bit. I am not going to even comment on her grading. Evidently, she don't know what the hell she is talking about. She's been listening to Otis and nem butcher songs that she doesn't know what real sanging sounds like. And as far as slapping someone...PLEASE! She may have gotten some sense slapped right back into her empty head. And BTW......therealdeal...WHY???

I see this is the typical "cut, paste, post & run" post. It's a shame. If the tables were turned, folks would've called you an "otis hater". Both men are living off the Tempts legacy, with four "replacements" each & making a good living from it. Why don't we have a go of it & just say that it's great that, regardless of our personal feelings for Dennis & O, that at least, they are out there entertaining the masses. Dennis maybe heavy but when I saw him, he was movin with the best of them. Let's give Dennis some props & credit for his contributions to the Tempts instead of berating the man & talking about his weight. That's not to say that we don't care about Dennis. We want him to live a long healthy life. I would like him to lose weight, if only for his health. But you have to give Dennis credit that he is still going despite all the odds against him. I'm proud of Dennis & hope he continues to have great success!

hello everyone. I am a new member and have been reading the comments by all. i agree with Poo--what does Dennis' weight have to do with his performance. i have seen Dennis and the Temptations Review perform and they are excellent! !!!!!!! And Dennis still has the same charm and personality that he has always had to win over the audience. The man truely has a gift to have such a powerful voice and dynamic stage presence. Keep up the good works guys and God Bless.

Hi Capricorn Princess, Its good to see that someone else stays up as late as I do (noticed your post time. ) I declare-- I think I missed my calling and should have been an entertainer because i get my energy at night when I should be sleeping. (i have to rise and shine at 7:00 am and I normally stay up until at least 2:00am reading or surfing the net.) Anyway, my favorite guy is Dennis--always has been since the early 70's. My favorite song(s) are: A Song For You and Naturally (to be honest I like all the songs). And no, I have not heard any solo material by David Sea, but no doubt it is the bomb--the man can definatley sang. I know he does a fantastic job on the songs that he leads when the Review performs--make you want to holler when he does I Wish It Would Rain. I think the whole group is just fantastic. Dennis really picked a good mix--they all complement each other. BTW, who's your favorite? Sleep tight, Eizzie

Yep, eizzie, I must admit, I am a night crawler. I love being up late at night...it's so peaceful. Each time one of the guys sings solo, I say he is my favorite! But I must admit, I'm a tad bit partial to Mr. Sea...he definitely has stage presence and knows how to work his show. The group as a whole reminds me of the Classic Five, in that they are enjoying themselves while performing. There is much interplay going on during their performances. It seem they get a kick out of performing and that gives me a kick. I just love it when Bernard does Don't Look Back. He's just having himself a ball! It's also a real treat hearing Chris' rendition of Can I. I sure hope Dennis releases some new material soon.

Hey Eizzie! Glad that you'll be sticking around. I like "A song for you" as well. I especially like how Dennis breathed new life into it by using the song as a tribute to his deceased Tempt brothers. "Naturally" sounds pretty good & wondering if Dennis will be doing anymore studio material. I think it's long overdue.

HELLO CAPRICORN PRINCESS AND SEIAN, I AGREE--WHERE IS THE NEW MATERIAL? I KNOW IT WILL BE THE BOMB WHENEVER THEY GET AROUND TO DOING SOME NEW RECORDINGS. BUT WHAT I WANTED TO TELL YOU ABOUT IS THAT I WENT TO THE LOUISVILLE CONCERT LAST FRIDAY. TO SAY IT WAS GOOD WOULD BE AN UNDERSTATEMENT--OUR BOYS WERE FANTASTIC! THEY WERE SOUNDING GOOD AND LOOKING GOOD! IT WAS AT A REALLY NICE SETTING ON THE WATERFRONT. THEY DID ABOUT 90 MINUTES. I TOLD YOU THAT MY FAVORITE SONG WAS "A SONG FOR YOU". WELL DENNIS SANG THAT AND THIS TIME ROLLED IT RIGHT INTO "MEMORIES". I TELL YOU I WAS IN HEAVEN. THEY REALLY SHOWED OUT. EVERYONE WAS MADE AWARE THAT ALL THE GUYS HAD THEIR OWN SPECIAL TALENT. AS DENNIS INTRODUCED THEM-THEY ALL CAME ONE BY ONE TO THE MIKE--AND SANG AN ABBREVIATED VERSION OF A SONG THAT FIT THEIR VOCAL RANG. IT WAS AWESOME TO SEE ALL THAT TALENT IN ONE GROUP. THEY WORE DIFFERENT COLOR SUITS WITH OF COURSE SHOES TO MATCH. DENNIS WORE RED, DAVID WORE HOT PINK, BERNARD WORE ANOTHER SHADE OF PINK, MIKE WORE BRIGHT YELLOW AND CHRIS WORE A DIFFERENT SHADE OF YELLOW. WHEN DENNIS SANG "GOD BLESS AMERICA" YOU COULD SEE THAT THE CROWD WAS REALLY MOVED. IT WAS A GREAT SHOW. THE EMOTIONS CAME ON BEFORE THEM AND THEY WERE VERY GOOD ALSO. THE SHOW WAS DEFINATLEY WORTH THE TRIP TO LOUISVILLE. I DID GET A CHANCE TO GO BACK AND SAY HELLO AFTER THE SHOW--AND ALL THE GUYS WERE EXTREMELY NICE. BERNARD SAID HE HAD A SORE THROAT--BUT YOU NEVER WOULD HAVE KNOWN IT TO HEAR HIM BELT OUT THOSE SONGS. I DON'T THINK I COULD EVER GET TIRED OF WATCHING THEM PERFORM--I COULD SIT THRU AT LEAST A DOZEN SHOWS STRAIGHT AND STILL BE UPSET WHEN THE SHOW ENDED ( THEY ARE TRULY A CROWD PLEASER. DON'T BE HATING ON ME--I WOULD HAVE LOVED FOR YOU ALL TO HAVE BEEN THERE--MAYBE NEXT TIME. EZZIE
