FORMER TEMPTATION BAND CONDUCTOR CORNELIUS GRANT GETS HALL OF FAME AWARD
reported by: MAA NEWS
Former Temptation band conductor Cornelius Grant will be inducted into the Los Angeles Black Music Awards' Hall of Fame of "Living Legends" September 14, 2002, at the Wilshire EBell Theater in Los Angeles.
Grant, who was with the Motown group the Temptations for over 17 years, is the most celebrated, and known of all the musicians that have graced the stage of the famed group. Grant is the only musician to have taken promotional picture with the group in the early stage of the groups existence. For years historians and Temptation buffs were puzzled over who was the sixth man in most of the Temptations earlier pictures; many didn't know that it was Grant that was harnessing his guitar in the photos! Considered the sixth Temptation by many, Grant was in the trenches during the groups growth to super stardom, helping to cultivate the sound of the Temptations.
The recognition of Grant's achievements are far over do, well deserved. He has been appreciated by those of us that have know about this great artist for years.
CONGRATULATIONS CORNELIUS!!!! WE ARE VERY PROUD OF YOU AT THE MAA!
